Shielded Transport Containers

Eichrom Technologies designs, manufactures, and distributes compact Type A shipping systems. Our shielded containers ensure the safe transport of radionuclides in syringes and vials under UN model regulations. Each unit is optimized for durability, operational efficiency, space minimization, and ergonomic use, ensuring both safety and convenience for domestic transport and international shipping of liquid radioactive materials such as PET radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear medicine radioisotopes, and CFR part 61 samples from nuclear power plants.

Type A Package

Type A packages are customarily used for transporting Tc-99m, Ga-68 and F-18 radiopharmaceuticals — radioactive materials used for medical diagnosis and treatment. These nuclear containers typically ship with a Yellow II label – surface radiation level not exceeding 50 mrem/hr and not exceeding 1 mrem/hr at 1 meter.

Constructed from a durable polyethylene shell, our reusable rad shipping containers offer a perfect balance of resistance and ergonomic design. Each Type A container features a waterproof closure, perimeter gaskets, and convenient handles for easy transport. Inside, each container case is filled with polyethylene foam cushioning to absorb shocks and securely hold medical radioisotope vials and syringes in place. Additionally, they are lockable and stackable ensuring easy stowing and storage.
